Free Survey and Test Patch
Ron attends site, assesses the substrate, existing coating and access requirements. He’ll identify what needs protecting nearby — glazing, cladding, vehicles, live plant, ventilation intakes.
We then run a test patch. This confirms the media, the pressure and the production rate, and it shows you the finish before we commit to the whole structure.

Access and Site Setup
Scaffolding, MEWPs or rope access are arranged to suit the structure. Access is frequently the largest single cost on tall steelwork, so it’s worth planning properly rather than improvising.
Compressor, blast pot and hoses are positioned to minimise disruption, with noise and vehicle movement considered from the start.
Containment and Protection
Sheeting, screens and enclosures are erected around the working zone. This keeps abrasive and debris contained, protects adjacent surfaces and allows work to continue while the rest of the site operates.
Where dust must be minimised further, we use wet or dust-suppressed blasting rather than dry.
Environmental containment matters too. On sites near watercourses or drainage, we sheet at ground level and collect debris rather than letting it wash away.

Nozzle pressure is set for the substrate. Steel takes high pressure comfortably. Brick and stone need it dialled well back, and we check progress constantly rather than working at a fixed setting.

Cleanup and Waste Collection
Spent abrasive and removed coating are collected and disposed of correctly. Older paint systems occasionally contain lead or other regulated materials, and we establish that during the survey rather than discovering it midway.
